Caroline Gueye is a Senegalese artist working with installation, sculpture and spatial environments. Her practice explores how perception is shaped by the viewer’s physical relation to space.

Through carefully constructed situations — passages, thresholds, reflections and framed openings — she creates works that require movement and repositioning in order to be perceived. The visitor’s orientation becomes part of the work, transforming the act of looking into an active experience.

Rather than focusing on representation, her projects investigate how attention and visual intensity emerge through spatial conditions. Her installations use materials such as brass, reflective surfaces and light to heighten awareness and alter the stability of what is seen.

Born and raised in Senegal, she pursued her higher interdisciplinary education in France, the USA and China. She lives and works between Dakar and Europe.
