INSIDE SERIES
This series of images focuses on superclusters, also called filaments. Filaments form massive structures of galaxies. They can be represented as a web (cosmic web). I am interested in the contrast between the astronomical sizes of filaments and their representation as web of threads. Indeed, filaments are actually among the largest structures in the universe. They are made up of galaxies bound by gravitation and following dark matter. To get an idea of the complexity of filaments, this series is a conception of the interior of a filament. This is why the series is called “inside”.
I made plastic installations and photographed them. The aim for the work is to share with the viewer the complexity of filaments in an astronomical scale.
